James Kidd, Botanist, in charge of Botanical Gardens, Sydney, 1833-67 and later superintendent, 1844-47; collected seeds and plants for the gardens from the Blue Mountains area; made some of New South Wales' first olive oil; awarded the Horticultural Society of New South Wales Silver Medal in 1842.
